Used in conjunction with the Year 1 Spring Maths paper 1 pupil booklet (sold separately), both papers are designed for all pupils to complete.

These child-friendly assessment materials offer an effective way to introduce pupils to formal assessments. The spring term assessments help monitor progress throughout the academic year and can be used formatively to identify strengths and weaknesses and inform teaching.

Paper 2 contains arithmetic and mathematical reasoning sections. The arithmetic sections assess pupils' ability to answer straightforward calculation questions. The two mathematical reasoning sections require pupils to consider the method or operation they will use in answering. Paper 2 provides less support and the requirements are more abstract.
